There are various cultural, religions. political ….ect reasons that explain why ornaments thrived or declined and the form of the ornaments changed based on these intentions. Comparing between ornamentation in different eras should not be limited to a chronological presentation it should show why ornaments appeared in this form or that form or even neglected (what was the intensions) Classical Architecture, Renaissance, Islamic, Christianity, Baroque: they all have different languages for the ornaments used and your research is trying to reveal why they were different and what was the intentions.
