Democracy
Democracy is in trouble in the United States. Trump’s election has pushed some to rethink the desirability of democracy, and to fashion ways for the intellectual elite to exert more influence over democratic decision-making. Others, particularly the roughly half of eligible voters who do not vote, feel that the US political system does not offer them anything worth their participation in politics.
How can the political-economic system of the United States be reformed to better achieve the promise of democracy, the system of government that gives all citizens equal power in governing themselves?
