Writing the Introduction Generic Outline There is a generic outline that almost all APA style introductions follow, and yours should follow this outline too. Opening One or two paragraphs that introduce your theme and why it is important. Try to open in a way that will catch the readers interest and prompt him or her to read on. If you state the research question here, keep it brief (e.g., the current study sought to examine the correlation between variables A and B).
