Dissociative Identity Disorder Simulation Paper
Mental Health SIM and paper You will participate in a mental health simulation. One student from each clinical group will be assigned to be the “therapist” who will meet with each “patient” with a mental health diagnosis. Your diagnosis is DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER ll. You are to write a minimum of 2 pages on your diagnosis with at least 3 references. This means a full 2 pages, anything less will lose points. You must include 3 references; papers will not be accepted without references. The references should be listed on a separate last page. The paper must be typewritten, double spaced, and in font size of 12, and stapled together (these requirements account for 5 points; note that papers less than 2 pages will lose significant points based on what is lacking). Please cite all quotes and sources appropriately. Plagiarism may result in an automatic zero and additional disciplinary action. Make sure that you word the paper objectively; do not use “l” or “you.” Use spelling and grammar check; you may lose up to 15 points for spelling/grammar/punctuation errors. A. You must include: 1. A comprehensive review of the disorder (35 points) a. what it is; signs and symptoms b. prevalence (x out of 100 or 1000 people in US have this, or x% of people in US have this) c. what age does it affect d. does it affect more men than women e. is there a genetic component (does it run in families) f. what is the prognosis (is it curable or treatable) 2. Current treatment options (medication, therapy, etc.) (25 points) 3. Psychosocial impact (15 points total) (don’t just say it has a negative impact, you must be specific in how it effects each area) a. on patient (5 points) b. on family (5 points) c. on community (5 points) 4.
