Read the article, “Identifying the Process of Drug Court Treatment in Small Towns and Mid-Sized Cities”, describing research I conducted on the 6 North Carolina adult drug courts in the early 2000s. Why was it hypothesized that small and mid-sized city drug treatment courts may benefit the clients more than larger city drug courts? There are 5 different client services that drug courts provide. Briefly describe two of these individualized treatment services for clients. Briefly discuss the “rehabilitative” philosophy behind drug courts. Based on the 3 categories, Small Towns, Mid-sized cities, and Large cities, which group was shown to be most successful with it’s drug court services?
