In this discussion, we will explore some of the minerals vital to human health. Among the most abundant of the essential minerals in the body are: Calcium Phosphorus (or the polyatomic phosphate anion, if you prefer) Sodium Potassium Magnesium Chloride Select a mineral that is critical for human health, either from the list above or another mineral of your choice. Then, respond to the prompts below. In your post, please address the following topics: State which mineral you have chosen. In what ionic state is the ion active within the body? In approximately one paragraph, summarize the physiological role of this ion. In approximately a sentence or two, please identify and briefly describe a disorder associated with a lack of or surplus of this ion in the body.
