Ethnography Methodology Research
To gain an understanding of how cultural meanings influence human behavior and development in the social environment, you are asked to write a case report of your family of origin. Using ethnographic techniques (e.g., interviews, photos, family artifacts or documents), you are asked to explore and report on four (4) of the following areas within your life: Family organization and family and gender role assignments Child rearing practices Religious beliefs Family accomplishments Family rituals Family attitudes toward illness and death Attitudes toward help seeking behaviors Attitudes toward coping and adapting to family crises Migration patterns Within your report, discuss your cultural values and identify the theoretical framework you used to guide your analysis. You should also discuss key influences on your family values, ethnic-community ties, adaptations to major life events, and trajectories in your individual and familys development. Please read and carefully review pages 30-33 in your textbook for information on case study and ethnography methodology prior to completing this assignment. You should also support your insights with information from your textbook and information from at least two (2) peer-reviewed articles. Your paper should be written in APA format (7th edition), no more than 5-7 pages in length, exclusive of cover page and references. Use 1 margins and 12-point Times New Roman type.
