[Get Solution]Airline Safety and Security
Return at least once later in the module week to review two or more of your classmates’ variables. Provide feedback to at least two classmates. Post 1 (Kerr): State your Research Topic, Objective/Purpose, and Research Question(s). Airline safety and security evolution: post-world catastrophes. The purpose of this study is to review airline safety and security over the years and see if the major changes in airline safety and security post-world catastrophes are evolving in the right direction. Who would be the population for your study? The population for my study would be anyone flying. What would constitute an appropriate sample? An appropriate sample would be the previous years statistics on how many people traveled via airplane or how many flights have flown. It could be broken down to on average how many people travel a day. In 2019, the FAA has records of more than 44,000 flights on an average day and 2.8 million passengers daily in and out of the United States. (2019). Air Traffic By The Numbers. Federal Aviation Administration. https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/by_the_numbers/ (Links to an external site.) What methods would be appropriate for collecting data to answer this question/these questions? One method for collecting data would be to look at the difference between the years that have had a world catastrophe. Maybe the before and after average numbers of flights or passengers traveled. Why are these methods appropriate/effective? The average number of flights or passengers traveled before and after a world catastrophe is effective because it could represent how safe the population feels for traveling via air. In some cases, people have other forms of transit, such as cars or trains. People might opt out of air transit after a world catastrophe has occurred. Post 2 (Ristvedt): State your Research Topic, Objective/Purpose, and Research Question(s). How are Toyota vehicles so reliable? (Why are they able to last so long and retain their value?) Who would be the population for your study? The population consists of anyone who owns, leases a Toyota vehicle. What would constitute an appropriate sample? An appropriate sample is gathering as much information as possible to include statistics. Statistics such as owner reviews, J.D. Power awards, and Kelley Blue Book show that Toyota’s are extremely reliable and retain their value better than many other brands. What methods would be appropriate for collecting data to answer this question/these questions? For data collection, I rely on statistics from well-known consumer/customer reviews, auto industry experts, and Toyota Production Management styles and their sales data. Why are these methods appropriate/effective? I believe these methods are effective and appropriate because they are mostly an unbiased look at the success of Toyota. The data collected is more fact-based on reviews with some opinion based on auto experts. Toyota sales show the demand for vehicles by consumers.
