[Get Solution]US Foreign Policy
What is the ideal foreign policy doctrine for the Twenty-First Century? Which problems do you consider priorities, and which values (or combination of values) and approaches inform your doctrine? -Questions to Consider Before Responding Here are some questions to prime your thinking, and may help you develop your argument: What do you see as the most critical challenges confronting the US in the 21st Century, and how would you prioritize and respond to them? Why? In responding to these problems, would you pursue a liberal-internationalist policy, a realist policy, or a neo-conservative policy, or something else? Why? Would you work multilaterally or unilaterally? Diplomatically or militarily or via some combination of both? How would you manage economics and trade? Security and security policy? How central should US economic, military, and cultural power be in maintaining the international system? Why? What similarities and differences between the Bush, Obama, and Trump Doctrines exist? What does the Trump Administration get right and wrong in its approach? What values should inform US foreign policy, and why? What is (are) the best way(s) for the US to address these problems? Should the US develop an ad hoc foreign policy or articulate a “universal” doctrine or an “organizing principle” in response? Why? Is the US wrong to abdicate its central role in maintaining the core system (Haass, Drezner, etc.), or are US interests best served by pursuing unilateral interests? Should the US seek an “indispensable,” “money-ball,” or “independent” America strategy (Bremmer)? In addition to the assigned readings and lectures, you may also elect to incorporate contemporary articles drawn from the discussions and the news to support your argument. -Pre-Submission Checklist for Essay 3 Have you: clearly articulated your thesis (argument) in your introduction addressed each part of the prompt drawn on course material for support, and supplemented with outside materials when necessary formatted your paper using MLA edited your essay for clarity, flow, and tone in standard academic English, avoiding slang and other colloquial speech proofread your paper for writing mechanics (spelling, grammar, etc.) converted your file to “doc” or “docx” or “RTF” or “pdf” as needed
