History of Educational Technology

1950 thru 1970’s. For each time period you will identify 2 to 3 leaders or major influencers in the field and the most significant contribution made by each. Additionally, you will describe 2 or 3 leading theories that were driving the field as well as 2 or 3 of the technologies that came into existence during the time period. As relevant to the time period, conclude each time period by briefly identifying those technologies that fell out of popularity during that time span. Each section will have 7 to 10 paragraphs. 1980 to thru 1990’s. For each time period you will identify 2 to 3 leaders or major influencers in the field and the most significant contribution made by each. Additionally, you will describe 2 or 3 leading theories that were driving the field as well as 2 or 3 of the technologies that came into existence during the time period. As relevant to the time period, conclude each time period by briefly identifying those technologies that fell out of popularity during that time span. Each section will have 7 to 10 paragraphs. Recent Developments in the Field Begin this new section with a brief introduction of one or two paragraphs that outlines what will be covered under the heading. 2000 to 2010 (Discuss David Merrill) For each time period you will identify 2 to 3 leaders or major influencers in the field and the most significant contribution made by each. Additionally you will describe 2 or 3 leading theories that were driving the field as well as 2 or 3 of the technologies that came into existence during the time period. As relevant to the time period, conclude each sub section by briefly identifying those technologies that fell out of popularity or use during the time period. 2011 to Present. For this final time period you will identify 2 to 3 leaders or major influencers in the field and the most significant contribution made by each. Additionally you will describe 2 or 3 leading theories that are currently driving the field as well as 2 or 3 of the technologies that have come into existence during the current time period in which we are living. As relevant to the time period, conclude this section by briefly identifying those technologies that have recently fallen out of popularity and reasons that this may be true. Conclude this section of the paper with two to three legends that have stood out through time or who have had the most significant impact on the field.
