Is Democracy Worth Dying

I need to write a research paper if democracy is dying. I would like to include these countries in my essay: Poland, Hungary, Russia, China, the USA, South Africa, and India because in those countries, democracy is in trouble. If you find other countries where democracy causes many issues, you could include them too, but please ask me in advance. The aspects of the question are Voting and the rise of populism. You need to include the extent of people voting and how many people actually voting: for who they are voting for: populist parties or democratic parties, and so on. And why people are not voting or are feeling mistrust or anger towards parties and other indicators of why democracy is in trouble. The US 2020 election should be included in the essay. For example, the president of the US is trying to steal the elections and how turnout matter in decline over time . I do not have many arguments, but if you could find some, that would be great! All arguments need to be persuasive, nuanced, and interesting. You should also include the rise of populism in those given countries and how this cause problems for democracy. There is also evidence on both sides. Democracy is dying, but in other countries, it is also increasing. So the essay needs evidence and arguments on both sides.
