Topic: The American with Disabilities Act (ADA) was enacted in 1990 to prohibit discrimination and guarantee that people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else to participate in American life— employment opportunities, to purchase goods and services, and to participate in State and local government programs and services. (www.ada.gov) The ADA has been criticized that it lowers employment opportunities for the disabled and increases the costs of doing business which is particularly detrimental to small businesses. Please address each of these criticisms (including addressing arguments for and against each criticism) and if either (or both) are realistic criticisms, the benefit of the ADA overall in light of such criticisms.
