LDR 615 Compare and Contrast Different Change Models
Compare and contrast two different change models. What leadership approach would you use to implement your preferred model? Why?
Hi Class,
Making the right choice in a change model is essential. This model and the whole transformation initiative must be implemented by a leader, and this is where the models importance is most apparent. Leaders must be role models and cheerleaders for change initiatives and approaches for several reasons.

Leaders serve as models for their subordinates. Changes cannot be implemented if people arent on board with the new direction. Employees typically look up to and mimic the actions of their supervisors and managers. A change program may not succeed if the why behind it isnt communicated in a way that encourages buy-in, and leaders have a responsibility to do so.

Leaders must be role models and cheerleaders for the change project and strategy because many people will not change if they do not have to (Folkman, 2019). Individuals will follow the path that is most familiar to them if left to their own devices. When asked why something is done a specific manner, I am sure we have all received an answer that we have always done it that way. Motivation and direction are essential for successful change attempts. In order for employees to embrace the change, top management must first become enthused about it. Leadership that can inspire, motivate and encourage is the most important factor in organizational development (Folkman,2019).

Good evening, Dr. E.,
I believe that we lead by example. Leaders must be creative and engage their employees. The leader that listens to their staff is an effective communicator, is honest, and develops a trusting relationship; is a positive leader. This role model encourages staff by giving feedback (cheerleader). A recent study on transformational leadership practices revealed that the top 2 practices of chief nursing officers in Magnet organizations were enabling others to act and modeling the way (Snow, 2019).

Implementation is complex and difficult, requiring innovative processes to motivate people and turn plans into actions (Suphattanakul, 2017). Leadership is a necessary component for encouraging and motivating workers behaviors. Organizations must prioritize leaders who are committed to the organizations vision and who can create, monitor, encourage, and reward change initiatives. Leaders assist followers in aligning their values with the values of the organization, promoting shared values within the organization (Singh, 2013). A transparent leader fosters a safe environment in which people can speak freely from their heads and hearts, saying exactly what they mean. This open communication may result in quicker error correction and better decision-making. Employees frequently pursue their own goals, which may differ or even conflict with those of their colleagues, in the absence of a leader who can build a transparent organization in which people can live their values. Leaders have a significant impact on the workplace, and their styles must be strategically aligned to accommodate the organizational culture in order for change to be successful.
