Please refer to chapters 13 and 17 of Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes no outside sources, I will include the readings! Please analyze Hobbes’ method (How does he try to answer his problem? The problem is a life of chaos and strife. The solution is the social contract — and all the details about it in ch. 27). How is Hobbes scientific, systematic, and measured? How does he create a map for man to live a slightly more restful life? Notice that he is modern in his approach: he collects data like a scientist, does not consult religion, and treats man like a physical object whose movements are predictable.
