Material and Non Material Culture

Section 3.1 of the book discusses the ideas of material culture and nonmaterial culture. For this week’s assignment, you will research the culture of Spain, looking specifically for these material and nonmaterial elements.

In a 750 word essay, describe at least three materials and three nonmaterial elements of the culture for Spain. Feel free to include images, as appropriate. Be sure to include information about how these elements are important to your country’s culture. After you discuss these elements, provide and discuss an example of a physical object (material culture) symbolizing a cultural ideal (nonmaterial culture) as discussed on p. 52 of the book.

Be sure to include APA citations for all sources used in your research Pro tip: The State Departments of many countries host websites with information about their culture.
