Minorities involved in Crime

Use social disorganization theory or strain theory to explain causes of your crime of concern.  Your imaginary brother/sister/best friend is a minority member this time.  In this essay you will have an opportunity to examine the relationship between crime and poverty, and between crime and systemic racial discrimination in this society.  Specifically you need to discuss how the elements of the theory can be applied in an urban development areas to the issues such as family structure, housing, education, and employment.  You may add a section explaining why community policing and crime prevention programs are failed in your community. Your discussions should be in-depth (analyzing the specific elements of the theories) and detailed, points should be backed up with data and sources.  In addition, you will need to discuss how your theoretical arguments can be tested scientifically.
