** Since this been an online class for the whole semester, the professor doe not know how I look like or who I am. So you can write it based on your personal opinion.** Format: -12 pt. font -4-6 pages -Double-spaced -1 inch margins -MLA style citations (in-text and works cited) -At least 3 sources outside of class readings -At least 3 sources from in class readings Content: For the final paper, you will be identifying your philosophical beliefs in terms of metaphysics, epistemology, and axiology. In terms of metaphysical questions, what do you believe exists, and how does it exist? Does God exist? Are people merely a part of nature or something greater? Some epistemological questions could include, what makes our belief about something true? Rationalism and empiricism are good choices to explore here. Finally, what value judgments do you make? What makes a good or bad person? What makes art good or bad? What kind of political or economic arrangement is best? You will explain your beliefs in each of the three branches of philosophy (metaphysics, epistemology, and axiology). You will then compare your beliefs to a philosopher we studied who held similar or opposing beliefs. You can and should also use outside sources to help understand the philosophical problems and philosophers in greater detail. Be sure this essay includes: -Your metaphysical, epistemological, and axiological beliefs -Comparisons (with citations) to philosophers weve studied during the semester -Examples and reasoning to illustrate why you believe what you are writing about -Citations for both in-class source material as well as the required outside research Topic Statement: Due 10/31 When submitting your proposed paper topic email me about a paragraph explaining: -What metaphysical, epistemological, and axiological questions you want to explore in this paper -Which philosophers we have studied (or that we will study) that you believe you can compare your beliefs to
