Opioid Intervention Programs
Examine the economic impact of a societal/social or health problem in the United States. Some examples of societal/social or health problems are AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, drug abuse, cocaine use, tobacco use, alcohol use, teen pregnancy, obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, violence/crime, and homelessness. Discuss the negative influence of the problem on health outcomes (half a page to 1 page). Present the economic healthcare costs associated with the problem (1 to 2 pages). Examine interventions that have been implemented or are being implemented to address the problem (1 to 1.5 pages); discuss the cost-effectiveness of interventions (1 to 1.5 pages). Provide recommendations to policy makers to alleviate the problem (half a page to 1 page). The paper should be 5 pages long (excluding tables, figures, and references). It should be typed, double-spaced, with Arial 12 point font, and with margins no larger than 1 inch on the left, right, top and bottom. The references should be both cited in the text and included on a separate page using appropriate style. DO NOT USE QUOTES FROM THE ARTICLES. SUMMARIZE THE ARTICLES WITH YOUR OWN WORDS AND INCLUDE THE REFERENCES. Topic: Cost-effectiveness of Opioid Intervention Programs to treat opioid dependence and addiction.
