Personal Experience Narration

Retell about a personal experience, event or memory that made an impression on you so much so that it changed your lives. (Students will make sure to keep events or experiences in sequential order. In other words, students will be writing a story keeping in mind of plot, setting, character, climax and an ending). Since this is your story, feel free to employ the first person “I” in recounting your story. Imagine your audience as your classmates who may or may not share your background, culture, or other life experiences. Try to be as descriptive as possible in the retelling of your story. In your writing, attempt to “show” your reader the story you are telling by using vivid and specific details and the best way to do that is to include sensory information as sight, smell, taste, sound and touch.
