Philosophy of Teaching
A philosophy of teaching describes your vision of what a teacher should know and do in the classroom to inspire students, engage them is learning, and ensure they develop and learn.
This philosophy gives insight as to who you are as a person. The philosophy is a position statement; it is where you stand on the topics, and the convictions that you are passionate about in relation to the teacher and students’ role.
This philosophy is not just a written statement. It should also reflect the actions, character, role, and dispositions that you perform or do in the classroom. This philosophy statement should and will be carried out when you become a teacher.
Directions You will work individually to create your philosophy of teaching. You will follow the criteria below ensuring you have described your belief about each of them.
This philosophy will be a written document, converted to PDF for submission in Blackboard. Below are the assignment requirements, content requirements, and rubric.
