Public Art Works
The image or object must be in a Public Setting in or around the greater Houston/Texas area. The image or figure of the work must be subject of controversy. The object must have been either defaced, removed, or renamed. The object’s removal or destruction must have been the result of public debate. The object must be an example of one of the types of Art media discussed in this course. Written Assignments must evaluate the works on their Aesthetic and Historic merits. Discuss the reasons why the figures or Art works are perceived to be controversial. Furthermore, discuss why the works were destroyed or removed, or why they should be destroyed or removed. Written Assignments must include 2 citations (MLA format) to support argument for or against the Works destruction.
