[ORDER SOLUTION] Slave Morality

What arguments does Hume give to show that what he calls necessity governs human behavior? How does he say necessity and moral responsibility are related? Evaluate his discussion. Mill argues that what our tradition has taught us about what is right and wrong is sometimes corrupted by the interests of the powerful, who encourage traditions that benefit them.  What examples of that phenomenon does Mill discuss?  Does he give the right account of those traditional ideas, or do any of them have more value than he believed? Are there any other examples you think his analysis might apply to? How does Nietzsche think belief in free will is connected to slave morality? Compare what he thinks is the slave morality view of punishment to how other value systems approach punishment. Evaluate his view of free will. What is Carnap’s view of moral claims?  Compare his discussion of morality with his discussion of metaphysics (e.g. Heidegger), and evaluate his view.
