Im working on a English question and need guidance to help me study.
Is it necessary always to think about what others have experienced in their lives, or how they would like to be understood, when talking or writing about aspects of society such as race, gender, or disability. Are other peoples vulnerabilities more worthy of attention than our logical and sincerely held beliefs? Is it important to consider how others might want to be talked to, or about, even if you dont approve of, or understand, their decision? Using DeGhetts paper on the censorship of images, and Lukianoff and Haidts paper on language use in contemporary America, consider how sensitive we should be, or expect others to be, when talking about controversial social and political issues.
