Background Information
Welcome to the second discussion. In this course you will be introduced to a topic in the discussion. The first week of the module you will write about your initial thoughts after reviewing the resources. The initial post should be at least 300 words.
During the following week you will reply to at least two of your classmates. The replies should be at least 100 words. See the discussion rubric for more details on grading.

In the workplace, acting ethically isnt just an abstraction. Especially for managers, making the right choices in ethics-laden situations, big and small, is an almost everyday occurrence. Ethics is commonly thought of as the rules or principles that define right and wrong conduct. In this chapter, however, you are going to read many examples in which the task isnt as simple as just choosing the correct answer. Rather, the decision may involve the many shades of gray in between right and wrong. The organization can do much to foster ethical behavior. But in the final analysis it is the individual manager who must make the decisions, and quite often individuals make poor choices on ethical issues. Its important that you develop your own ethical guideposts and decision making processes to apply for yourself.
