The Pact
The purpose of your paper is to discuss the statement listed below that is from the New Jersey State Teaching Standards. Your essay should be approximately three pages (and start at the top of page one) excluding the cover sheet with identifying information. Begin with an introductory paragraph that tells the reader the purpose of the paper, which is to address the standard below (include the standard). The conclusion should tie back to the thesis. The following statement is included in Standards II of the New Jersey Professional Standards for Teachers: 2.ii5: The teacher understands that learners bring assets [and liabilities] for learning based on their (1) individual experiences, (2) abilities, (3) talents, (4) prior learning, as well as (5) language, (6) culture, (7) family, and (8) community values For standard 2ii5, choose three of these influential factors and discuss how each one affects student learning in The Pact. Include a sentence, in your opening paragraph to tell the three you selected. (Also, include the full standard in the introduction.)
