Go to Project Implicit website (https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/). You will see an area where you can set the language (there is an American flag). Please read the Newsweek article Don’t Judge Me by My Tights, and watch videos in this week to discuss the following questions: Are you surprised at how difficult it can be for a man to do a job that many people see as not masculine? Why? Give me some examples of those types of jobs that are portrayed in such way. In the article and the films, what qualities do the writer or the speaker associated with being masculine? What possible crisis can you see the emphasis on masculinity have been affected our society? Are there jobs that create similar problems for women? what jobs? why? Create Your Own Religion What does it take for a religion to be successful? How do we measure success in this context? What factors must a New Religious Movement take into consideration as it becomes established? In this project, you will attempt to answer these questions by creating your own global religion. You may go in any direction you’d like. You can create a completely new tradition (i.e.: “Worldtradecenterism,” which envisions a new religion that began on 9/11) or you could show how existing religions adapt to cultural encounters, new ideas, and modern technologies (i.e.: “Cyber-Judaism”). Requirements Paper: Your papers should focus on the following aspects of your religion a) its symbols and beliefs; b) concept of God and/or sacred founders; c) rituals and worship; d) organization and community. You should also show how your religion is global, compare it with an existing religion, and analyze it using ideas from lectures and readings. The paper should be 2-4 double-spaced pages.

Must focus on the experiences of specific social groups based on sociological variables such as race, gender, social class, sexuality and others within a social institution of society such as family, education, politics, etc. To demonstrate how a specific group experiences the construction of a social institution. The purpose is to provide empirical evidence regarding these social experiences. Must be very specific.

Your critical reflection paper/lead post is the equivalent of a 10 minutes presentation in face-to-face courses. Length is anything between 5-6 pages in double space, Times New Roman, 12 points font. This is between 1000-1500 words. It is okay for you to write a slightly longer or shorter paper. What I need is a Summary and analysis of the key ideas in the reading(s). You will need to discuss the key ideas and arguments the authors are making. You need to also write your thoughts on the readings.
