CHFD210 Week 5 Discussion

I’m stuck on a Psychology question and need an explanation.

Discuss why play is important for children in preschool and kindergarten. Explain how you will incorporate at least three types of play into your daily schedule.

Minimum 250 words answer.

Classmate #1:

As a child it is very important to play and interact with other kids. When kids are in preschool sometime it is a way to get them to know one another and be comfortable around other kid. Play allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. Play is important to healthy brain development. It is through play that children at a very early age engage and interact in the world around them. It teaches them the correct ways to socialize. Kids are in school to meet new people and learn new things. This is the way for them to exercise their minds. Their cognitive, language and physical skills develop through their play experiences, as well as their imagination, concentration, self-confidence and sociability skills. Taking a back-to-basics approach can be an easy and fun way for you to incorporate play into your child’s schedule. Play helps them learn about things such as the earthworm they find on the ground, how to avoid arguments with others, their favorite imaginary character during role play or that mom does not like when they yell inside the house. Promoting playtime helps your child learn about their skills and abilities, while interacting with others and their surrounding.

Classmate #2:

Todays forum discusses why play during preschool is so important; I feel that playing during the preschool ages, is important, because those are important years in a Childs development socially and mentally. Between 3-5, children are able to express how they feel and what they want verbally, but they are not necessarily cognitively aware of how they are feeling, and able to express it in a manner that is fully understandable. However, when children are playing, they are expressing how they feel, what they want, how they see their surroundings, something as simple as drawing pictures, can tell you much more about how a child is feeling, then them actually telling us. Playing increases children’s social skills, teaches them to share, teaches them to verbalize understanding of rules, teaches them boundaries, they learn to play as a group, and become comfortable playing on their own. Outdoor play, is probably the easiest to incorporate, because most preschools/daycares/elementary schools have a recess time, and take their students outside. Rough and tumble play, in my experience, nowadays has to be reserved for the home, because of safety concerns for the students, I’ve seen the socio-dramatic play utilized in my own children’s daycares/preschools, as their schools had different stations in the classrooms for the kids to play (kitchen area, blocks and building, coloring, water area, art, etc). I think free play coincides with outdoor play because unless the students are playing a specific game, they usually have free reign to explore the play areas.

I don’t know how to handle this Health & Medical question and need guidance.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING WORD LIMIT REQUIREMENTS:

Please note that each and every assignment has its own word limit.

As humans I believe we all have health related behaviors that we would like to change. Whether it is eating healthier, going to the gym more or starting a meditation practice, but why is it so difficult?

I personally strive to be more mindful through yoga, however, I find myself having a constant internal battle to actually go to the yoga studio. Why is this? Why is it difficult to change a behavior that I know will be beneficial for me?

Lincoln’s First Inaugural Address

I need an explanation for this History question to help me study.

write an analytical essay in which you summarize the main points of the article (this should take about 2/3 of your essay) and then analyze/critique the source (about 1/3 of your essay).

Who is the author of your chosen source? What is the time period of the source and what is the topic? What might this article tell a researcher about the time period? What is he/she trying to say? What is his/her point of view? Does he/she make a convincing case? Why or why not? What does the author leave out (if anything)? Does the author exhibit a particular bias? Is there anything in this source that might be relevant to the world today?

Note: Depending on the source you choose, not all of the above questions may be relevant. Answer those which are relevant to your source.

In writing your essay, you should follow the below guidelines:

Your essay should be a MINIMUM of 900 words (it can be longer if you like).

Your completed essay should consist of a summary (about 2/3 of your essay) and an analysis (roughly 1/3).

All persons, events, concepts in your paper should be introduced/explained clearly…in other words, write your essay as if your audience was another student!

Your essay should follow the basic style guidelines for MLA, APA or Chicago (your choice).

Your essay should have a cover page and bibliography page in your chosen style (these pages do NOT count towards the essay length).

Your essay should be double-spaced with #12 fonts and 1-inch margins.

The essay needs to be written entirely in your own words. Use quotes very sparingly and only to highlight a point you are trying to make. Quoted material does NOT count towards the length of your essay.

Your essay needs to be neatly written and grammatically correct (points will be deducted for sloppy papers).

I WILL LOVE TO WORK WITH YOU FOR THE REST OF MY CLASS IF YOU WANT TO? LAST TIME WE WORKED ON THE TOPIC OF “Problems of Education in the 21st Century”

FOR THE FIRST PERPER I WROTE I HAD PICKED THIS ARTICLE http://www.scientiasocialis.lt/pec/node/1192 IF YOU . CAN USE THAT . ONE FOR THE REST OF ALL THE ASSIGNMENTS FINE ELSE PICK ONE FROM HERE AND LEFT ME KNOW http://www.scientiasocialis.lt/pec/

FOR THIS WEEK

you will interview an expert in the topic you are researching. This is a form of action research that will provide you with qualitative information to help you ground yourself in the research topic. This is a fantastic way for you to ask specific questions you have about your topic, since you can ask targeted questions that you may not readily see answers for in the literature. If you are confused by a premise in the research you have conducted, you are able to ask your expert for clarification and follow-up. Interviews move beyond the text and allow for a form of action in your research.Your expert will typically not be a friend or relative providing anecdotal experiences as tied to your topic. Rather, an expert will be someone who is employed in the field you are researching. Experts include a number of professionals to include instructors, police officers, lawyers, business professionals, published authors, medical professionals, or scholars in the field. As you ask your questions, you will most certainly become more grounded in the topic you are exploring.

Part 1: Initial Post

Research/Interview

Conduct a brief interview with an expert on your topic.

  • Use the following guide to help you prepare and develop interview questions.
    • How to Conduct an Interview (Template found in the Module folder.)
  • An in-person interview is the preferred method, but if you are able to use cloud conferencing such as Zoom, or Skype that works well too. You were informed to contact an expert in Mod 3, however, if you have not done so, please set-up your interview early in the week so that you can post your interview results by Thursday. Please contact your instructor should you find complications with scheduling your interview with your expert.
  • Take careful notes. If you interview via Zoom, or Skype, you might want to record the interview. Be sure to ask permission first.

Think

Consider what you learned from the interview and what perspectives were brought to light as part of your interview.

  • Did you learn something new?
  • Do you feel this helps to clarify, or add to your thesis?

Write

This is a small-group discussion forum. Continue working in your assigned group based on the theme you chose.

In your discussion post, order your interview as follow:

  • Name of expert
  • Title of expert
  • Name of organization
  • Summary of interview

study case “trevor and the technology”

I’m trying to study for my Law course and I need some help to understand this question.

Write a 1 page report, double spaced, 12 pt font, times new roman, 1″ margin. A cover sheet must be attached which list name course title date and assigned date.

Reference at least two ethical principles and provide a rationale for their use as evidence.

CASE 3: Trevor and the Technology

Trisha Nunn

Texas Women’s University

Trevor Wilson, RDH, BSDH. How great that sounded especially

as Trevor began his brand new job—a job that at least two of his

classmates wanted as badly as he did. Dr. Reeves not only seemed

to have the same philosophy as Trevor, but she paid exceptionally

well, and the office is state-of-art.

On his first day Trevor was thrilled to have made it through the

first two patients without going over the allotted appointment

times—and he did everything just as he had learned about standard

of care. The third patient of the day was 21-year-old Kaleigh

Ballantine. Dr. Reeves requested that Trevor use the electronic

caries detector because Ms. Ballantine was new to the practice and

had not had a thorough hard tissue assessment. Trevor even

gloated a little because he was very familiar with the device. Trevor

charted only one reading that strongly indicated a carious lesion,

but he also noted several very borderline readings on the chart

because he knew Dr. Reeves was a perfectionist and would want to

know all possible trouble areas as she was evaluating potential

lesions visually and tactilely during the examination.

Dr. Reeves sat down for the examination, chatted with Ms.

Ballantine, and scanned the dentition with a mouth mirror. She

looked at the charting of the potentially carious lesions and said,

“Kaleigh, you have a significant number of problems. It looks like

you’re going to need eleven fillings. We’ll want to do white ones, of

course, because of all the bad news about our trusty silver fillings.

The ballpark cost will be around $2100. Trevor, make sure Kaleigh

gets on my schedule so that we can get all these carious lesions

taken care of before she gets into trouble. Have the girls up front

schedule quadrant by quadrant.” Trevor sat dumbfounded.
