Choose one of Walt’s ideas and write a background paper on the conflict

I need an explanation for this History question to help me study.

Assess the existing theories of causation on the potential for conflict.

Finished product: 10 pages total including a one-page executive summary, double-spaced, not counting a cover page (if you wish – not necessary), the References List, and any appendices. double-spaced, 12 point font, Turabian author/date reference list style.

Your work should be adequately subheaded in bold to give your reader a roadmap.

Early in 2013, Stephen Walt’s blog provided a list of intractable conflicts. As a group he coined them “the ‘too-hard’ box.” Not all of them are intractable in the sense that the parties have engaged in open conflict, but still, they are puzzles when we think about applying international negotiation tactics. Some of them, through the negotiation process, have made considerable headway since 2013.

Please choose one of Walt’s ideas and write a background paper on the conflict, what specific international negotiation efforts to solve the conflict that have been made, and future prospects.

See [http://walt.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2013/02/26/the_too_hard_box] . Just close the advertising box and read the blog – you don’t need to sign up or register with Foreign Policy. If that does not work for you, here is a list of the conflicts to choose from:

1. Cyprus – the Greece-Turkey territorial division

2. The Arab-Israeli conflict

3. The Korean Peninsula

4. Kashmir

5. UN Security Council Reform

6. The Democratic Republic of the Congo

7. The Cuba Embargo – solved in 2015 but issues remain

8. The European Union

9. Climate Change

10. Former Soviet Fragments – Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nadgorno-Karabakh; Chechnya; breakaway provinces South Osetia and Abkhazia. (What about Ukraine?)

Please note: You should be using Turabian author/date reference list style. If you are unsure what this means, please review the Turabian Quick Guide, noting the use of “author/date” style. This is not optional in the MA in International Relations and Conflict Resolution degree. If you are under another degree plan that mandates a certain citation style, please let your instructor know.

The background paper should consist of the following subheaded sections:

1. Statement of the problem
2. Issues
3. Complicating factors
4. Possible solutions within the framework of international negotiation methods – Note: If progress has been made, indicate what international negotiation methods were used.
5. Recommended course of action
6. Anticipated Outcomes and analysis

References List

Any appendices

Although these sections may beg for enumerated points, please do not use bullet lists or other short-cuts to academic writing. Write in full sentences, not fragments. Position your arguments as the first sentence of the paragraph for clarity. Follow arguments, ideas, main points, etc. with evidence as support, analysis, and a transition to the next point. In other words, follow a basic IRAC structure for each paragraph – issue, rationale, analysis, conclusion.

About footnotes and endnotes: For everyone in all programs, you may use footnotes or endnotes – but not to hold sources. Footnotes in Turabian author/date style are meant to hold superfluous information – things you’d like your reader to know but they are not critical to your argumentation and support. Sources belong only in the References List and are noted in the text parenthetically as (author date, page).

I need an explanation for this Communications question to help me study.

As the new communications manager for International Gadgets, you have come across many examples of ineffective communications, including some older directives that were never carried out, mostly because of their unclear nature.

One example included an email stating that the recipient (within the R&D team) was to “create a presentation discussing the new product and send it to interested departments.” Others included a request from Sales to Technical Support for “a list of the biggest problems with our hot products” and a memo from Finance to all departments to “reduce the number of suppliers being used to better control costs.”

In a memo to your team, describe what is wrong with directives such as these and how to improve these messages so that they are delivered to the recipient with clarity and conciseness.

Please remember to refer to the Module One Short Paper Guidelines and Rubricdocument for company background.

Discussion: Biological Basis of Memory

Can you help me understand this Psychology question?

For years, researchers have tried to identify the biological basis of memory. This basis might take many forms, such as the model we will discuss this week, but the physical trace of the memory has become known as the engram. While it is likely that there are multiple ways in which memory is stored, the current model for the formation of new memories is Long-Term Potentiation. This model was described by Donald Hebb, who summarized it in 1949 by saying “Neurons that fire together, wire together.” This model suggests that when neurons are typically activated at the same time, the connection between those cells is strengthened. In the terms we have described earlier in our class, the postsynaptic cell becomes more responsive to the neurotransmitters released by the presynaptic cell. Nearly 20 years after Hebb’s quote, the process of LTP was actually observed in the hippocampus. Today, this model is the basis for our understanding of how new memories are formed. A more recent, and less well-understood process is long-term depression, in which the connections between two cells are actively weakened.

For this Discussion, you will explore this LTP model including the neurotransmitters and receptors involved. You will consider what activates each receptor and what changes within the receptor when it is activated.

Note: For this Discussion, you are required to complete your initial post before you will be able to view and respond to your colleagues’ postings. Begin by clicking on the?Post to Discussion Question?link, and then select?

Post a response to the following:

  • Explain Long-Term Potentiation in your own words.
  • Include a description of the receptor involved in LTP and what happens when it is stimulated by its ligand.
  • Explain the changes that happen in both the presynaptic and postsynaptic cell as part of the LTP process.
  • Briefly summarize the articles you found in the library that support how LTP is beneficial in your daily life. Include full APA references for your articles.

test of winning in the workplace

I’m trying to study for my English course and I need some help to understand this question.

This course will probably be a bit different from the other courses you are taking. Typically, high school courses cover subject areas—math, science, language, social studies, etc. All of the subjects you study are important, and they will help prepare you for a career. Winning in the Workplace takes that idea a step further and discusses what you will actually encounter when you get out in the “real world” and FIND a career.

This course will provide an overview of the entire employment experience from start to finish—from beginning the search for a job through retirement! This sounds like a lot, but the course is set up in an easy-to-follow, step-by-step format. You will begin by evaluating yourself and getting some ideas about what kinds of jobs you might like. You will then learn about ways to find jobs, as well as how to apply effectively. The course will explain the issues, situations, and concerns that new workers face. It will also discuss ways to manage the money that you earn as an employee, and, finally, you will learn about ways to begin planning for retirement. (Of course retirement is a long way off, but keep in mind that the earlier you begin planning, the sooner you will be able to retire, and the more you will be able to enjoy it.)

The overall purpose of Winning in the Workplace is to show you what it is like to have a job. The idea of starting a new position may make you a bit nervous. After all, there are many steps you must go through—applying, going to an interview, meeting new people from different age groups and backgrounds, and learning new tasks. As you study these experiences, you should realize that you can handle all of them. The activities in this course should help you build confidence so that when you are ready to start a job, you will know that you have what it takes to succeed.

Winning in the Workplace has five units:

Final Project Milestone 1

Help me study for my Art & Design class. I’m stuck and don’t understand.

This is the first step in an ongoing course project. This project will provide an opportunity to choose an art form and deepen your understanding of it, when you select a work of art within that art form to study and research throughout the course. You will fulfill various weekly parameters that detail the specific requirements for each worksheet as you participate in the weekly Final Project Milestones exercise.

Final Project Milestone 1: Identify an artistic venue for an art form that you can attend by the end of Week 4 of this course. Examples include, but are not limited to, an art or photograph exhibition, concert, dance recital, film, or theater production.

Note: In Week 2, you will choose a specific work of art, identify the venue where you will observe that art form, and identify the chapter in the course text that corresponds with that art form. (The Week 1 and Week 2 Final Project Milestones constitute the basis of your Final Project.)

To prepare:

  • Please review the preformatted “Final Project Milestone 1” worksheet.
Final Project Milestone 1 (Word document)

Discussion questions, perfect grammar, zero plag

I need support with this Management question so I can learn better.

Question One:

a) Examine the extent to which the kingdoms of Ghana, Mali, and Songhai contributed to the development of West African and African- American history (200 words)

b) In your classmate response, support your response with two (2) examples of the cultural patterns of West African kingdoms that have reproduced themselves in America. 5 full sentences.

Due to slavery, the West Africans became the first African Americans.

Help with ideas for a teacher assistant program

I’m trying to learn for my Business class and I’m stuck. Can you help?

I have been offered an opportunity to be a teacher assistant. In order for me to participate in this, I need to come up with some new ideas for the class. These are the requirements:

1) I want the primary contribution by the FNAN 341 TA to be the creation of resources (primarily problems, but they can be TF, multiple choice, short answer, mini cases, extensive worksheets, etc.) for students. I would like these new materials to achieve 2 distinct goals:

i) cover what problems from fall 2019 did, but in different ways (this is analogous to FNAN 303 problems that involve a similar concept such as the present value of a perpetuity, but ask a variety of questions such as computing the total value, cash flow amount, return, or growth)

ii) expand on the material covered in class, especially with qualitative problems that get at implications (for example, what does a certain ratio of figure imply for a firm or valuation approach).

My question is: what are some ideas that you have regarding the types of new materials that you think would benefit students. In other words, if asked you what should be added to the set of practice problems to enhance student learning, what types of things would you suggest. In short, if you were me, what would you ask the TA to create.
